Our Mission

The Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio joins nearly 130 other furniture banks throughout the country whose mission and purpose is to provide furniture to families and individuals recovering from crisis and starting over, including:

Individuals and families transitioning homelessness

Victims of Domestic Violence

Emancipated Foster Youth

Immigrants and Refugee Families

Victims of Personal Crisis and Natural Disasters

Veterans

Furniture and Household Essentials

Furniture and household essentials are often an overlooked necessity for people seeking stability, security, comfort, and a better future.

A cozy chair, a dining table and chair, a comfortable bed allows individuals to relax, reflect and regenerate after a hard day… paving the way for

a better tomorrow.

The purpose of the Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio is to help create an environment where individuals can be more productive, more independent and improve their quality of life.

Through a community-based approach, the Furniture Bank will collect gently used furniture and household items, clean and repurpose them as necessary and will provide these items to families and individuals referred by nonprofit and social service organizations. The success of the organization will depend on donations and volunteers throughout the service area.

The Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio

will begin service in Richland County in May 2024

and as quickly as possible begin servicing surrounding counties.

You can help us make a difference in the lives

of others by making a FURNITURE donation.

We accept gently used essential furniture including sofas, chairs, coffee and end tables, dining sets, beds, nightstands, dressers.

Most furniture will be going into apartments and for that reason, we cannot accept oversized furniture, sofa beds, armoires, large entertainment centers.

We are happy to pick up your donation for free but would appreciate a donation to cover the costs for the truck fuel and maintenance.

Remember...every contribution counts!

Financial contributions are important to keeping the doors open, the lights on, and the moving trucks maintained and gassed up.

100% of your donation goes to direct client support. All personnel are volunteers.

Join Us as a Volunteer

Volunteers make it possible to collect, repair, and distribute furniture free to guests.

There´s a wide range of volunteer opportunities from collecting furniture and assisting guests, to processing and repairing donations.

No matter your skill level or interest, your service will make a big impact for our neighbors.
